RALPH LAWSON ANNOUNCES ‘BACK TO BASICS – RARE CLASSICS’
Ralph Lawson and Back To Basics have unveiled a unique vinyl and album project in support of rare house and techno classics: ‘Back To Basics – Rare Classics’.
Basic Vision is releasing a series of vinyl EPs compiled into a full length album entitled ‘Back To Basics – Rare Classics’, selected and compiled by the DJ who played the first record at the club, Ralph Lawson. Ralph has spent two years compiling the releases.
The first 12” EP release release on 7th December features club classics Lil Louis & The World’s ‘I Called You (The Story Continues), Mike Perras’ ‘Keep Movin’. The record is completed with a highly sought after track championed by DJ Harvey, M-I-Cara’s ‘Casa Beat’.
Other artists included on the forthcoming releases include Neal Howard, Cassio Ware, Eddie Fowlkes, Black Science Orchestra and Armando, with all the tracks mastered from the original recordings. A full 14-track album version is scheduled for March 2018 release.
Ralph Lawson became music director of Dave Beer’s Back To Basics bringing artists such as Daft Punk, Danny Tenaglia, Derrick Carter and Francois K to play at the club. He’s also helped the club win 5 major industry awards so far for Best Club and has been personally nominated for Best Breakthrough, Best DJ and Lifetime Contribution. Lawson started the 20/20 Vision label from his Leeds base helping to build the careers of Maya Jane Coles, Crazy P, Huxley, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Paul Woolford and Audiojack.
